Poetry by C. Eve

I am the First Eve.

Morning After

You brought me home,
left me here with you
and in our dreams,
I poured us
a cup of sleep
to share, to hide
our vulnerability.
Upon waking, I noticed
the morning heavy
with too much whiskey.
Can you smell it, too?
