I am the First Eve.

Wings

As soon as the sun falls dark
on the horizon,
I watch for crows and call
for your murder.
They arrive soon after dusk,
but I was disappointed.
For they only spoke of beauty,
black beaks and
shining wings.
Feathers in my hair,
I learn
these lessons
of forgiveness
and take flight.
