Savior

The stench, blood,
filled the air.
Broken, I
wondered and said
“fly away.”
Burning, he transformed.
Changing, his eyes fixed
on me
and we were flying.
He broke free with
his wings and legs
Drops of blood glistening on
pale skin,
my knives were coming to recognize
my arms once again.
He
held me secure
against his chest.
